What is Susan's Book Club?

Susan's Book Club is a monthly book subscription service that sends a new book to subscribers each month. We offer six subscription plans: one for new and old classics in fiction and nonfiction books, one for computer science books, one for physics books, one for philosophy books, one for popular science and technology books, and one for science fiction and fantasy books. 

Why only six genres?

Susan's favorite topics are computer science, philosophy, and physics - she has also studied, researched, and worked in all three fields, so she's able to to pick the best books in each. She also loves the classics and science fiction and fantasy. We're always looking to add more, so send your recommendations our way!

How are books selected?

Every book is read, reviewed, and selected by Susan herself. She chooses only the most interesting and beautifully-written books she can find. 

When do books ship?

All books are shipped during the first week of each month. All new members who join will receive their first book the month after they join; for example, if you join on the 6th of March, your first book will be shipped on April 1st.

When will I be charged for my subscription?

We will charge the card on your account on or around the 15th of each month.

How are the subscriptions priced?

We've chosen two straightforward prices for each monthly subscription: $14.95 for the popular science, science fiction, and classics categories, and $19.95 for the computer science, philosophy, and physics categories. The books in each subscription will have a list price between $13.95 and $35.95 - we've chosen a price on the low side of the spectrum so that we can afford to send you books in this range. 

How much does shipping cost? 

Shipping and handling costs a flat $3.50 each month. This cost will be added to your subscription price. For example, if your subscription is $14.95 per month, then you will be charged $14.95 + $3.50 + any applicable taxes. 

Do you ship outside of the United States?

Unfortunately we cannot ship outside of the USA at this time. We do plan to expand our offerings in the future, so please stay tuned!

Can I skip a month?

Of course! Just log into your account before the last day of the month you'd like to skip and click "Skip this month". 

How do I cancel my subscription?

Easy! Just log into your account, and click "Cancel My Subscription". 

Can I pick a different book? 

Yes! If you see a book you like that's part of a different subscription, just log into your account and edit your subscription so that you receive that book instead. For example, if you want to receive the book that is in the Philosophy Subscription, simply edit your subscription and choose "Monthly Subscription: Philosophy". 

What is your refund and return policy?

We don't offer refunds or accept returns on books. If you don't want a specific book, please sign into your account and skip a month. If you are unhappy with the selections you have been receiving, please cancel your subscription (see "How do I cancel my subscription?" above for instructions). If you receive a damaged book, please send us an email at info@susansbookclub.com and let us know - we will send you a replacement.
